An extension and renovation of a house and garden in the Jesus Green Estate in East London.
Unsympathetic alterations and a poorly executed extension had left the rear of this house in an untidy state, with the small garden hemmed in by high walls.
A new facade to the rear of the house is created at ground level, which is mirrored by a facade at the rear of the garden (concealing a storage space). The facades and garden walls are clad in a bespoke profiled timber which is intended to create a garden area that feels like an outside room. The interior of the extension is light and modern and the space is connected back to the rest of the house.
